Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance? How can payments be made?
How your insurance coverage works in our office is unique to your plan. On your first visit we take copies of your insurance cards so we can verify your benefits and share this information with you. We find most insurance companies have high deductibles so we keep our prices low so most people can afford it. We accept Medicare patients and will bill Medicare for you. Payments can be made with cash, checks, or credit/debit/HSA cards and automatic payments can be set up.
Iām not in pain. Do I need regular adjustments?
Absolutely! Chiropractic care isn't just about pain relief. It's about optimizing your nervous system, maintaining proper alignment, and preventing future issues. Even if you're not experiencing pain, regular adjustments can contribute to your overall well-being and help you function at your best.
What is the torque release technique, and how is it different from traditional chiropractic adjustments?
The Torque Release Technique (TRT) is a gentle and precise chiropractic adjustment method. Unlike traditional adjustments that involve forceful cracking or popping, TRT uses a targeted approach to release tension and restore spinal alignment. This results in improved nervous system function, reduced discomfort, and a more comfortable experience, especially for individuals who prefer a gentler approach.
Can chiropractic care help with sports injuries or improve athletic performance?
Chiropractic care can play a vital role in sports injury recovery and prevention. By addressing alignment issues and improving spinal health, chiropractic adjustments promote optimal healing and can enhance athletic performance. Many athletes incorporate regular chiropractic visits into their training routines to stay in peak condition.
Will I need x-rays or other diagnostic tests during my visit?
We do not perform x-rays at your appointment. However, we do an initial evaluation and follow-up evaluations where we perform a spinal thermography scan to gather information about trouble areas along your spine. If Dr. Hightower deems x-rays necessary, we can order them from Blessing Hospital in a quick and easy manner. To learn more about your visit, see What to Expect.
How long does a regular appointment last?
Please allow 60-90 minutes for your new patient appointment. For a regular adjustment appointment, most people are in and out in fewer than 30 minutes. This allows us to provide a thorough evaluation, perform necessary adjustments, and ensure that you receive the highest quality care without disrupting your daily schedule.
How can I maintain the benefits of chiropractic care at home?
Maintaining the benefits of chiropractic care at home involves integrating healthy habits into your daily routine. This includes practicing good posture, engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, and staying hydrated. We'll provide you with guidance and exercises tailored to your needs, empowering you to take an active role in your health journey.
